At YUUGEN.ART, we take great pride in ensuring that every piece of fine Japanese artistry is carefully prepared, securely packaged, and shipped with the utmost respect for craftsmanship and detail.
All orders are shipped directly from Japan to our customers worldwide using trusted international carriers and fully insured delivery.
1. International Shipping (Delivered Duty Unpaid – DDU)
All shipments from YUUGEN.ART are sent on a Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis.
This means:
- Shipping fees are calculated and displayed at checkout (unless complimentary shipping applies)
- Import duties, taxes, VAT, customs fees, and brokerage charges are not included
- These charges, if applicable, are assessed by local customs authorities and are the responsibility of the recipient
Customs regulations vary by country, and YUUGEN.ART has no control over these charges.
2. Shipping Fees
Orders of USD $500 or More
• Complimentary international shipping
Orders Below USD $500
• Shipping fees are calculated automatically by Shopify at checkout
• Rates vary depending on destination, weight, size, and package dimensions
All shipments include:
• Professional protective packaging
• Tracking and delivery confirmation
Declared value coverage for loss or damage during transit is included for all FedEx shipments, in accordance with FedEx’s shipping terms and conditions.
3. Carriers
We primarily ship via FedEx International Priority, providing fast, reliable international delivery with real-time tracking and signature confirmation.
In certain circumstances, equivalent premium carriers may be used.

5. Processing & Shipping Timeline
- Orders are typically dispatched within 7 business days after payment confirmation
- Made-to-order or limited items may require additional preparation time; estimated lead times will be communicated in advance
- Orders containing multiple items will be shipped once all items are ready
6. Tracking & Delivery
Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipment confirmation email with tracking details.
You will also receive automated updates as your package progresses through each stage of delivery.
For security reasons:
- A signature may be required upon delivery
- We do not ship to P.O. boxes or forwarding addresses
7. Duties, Taxes & Customs Clearance
As all shipments are sent on a Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis:
• Import duties, taxes, VAT, and customs-related fees are not collected by YUUGEN.ART
• These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are non-refundable, even in the event of a return or refusal
• Failure to pay required customs charges may result in delivery delays, return to sender, or disposal by customs authorities
Declared value coverage applies only to physical loss or damage during transit and does not cover customs-related charges, delays, refusals, or seizures.
8. Packaging, Insurance & Damage Claims
Each item is individually inspected and packaged with exceptional care, using protective materials that reflect the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship.
All shipments are sent via FedEx and include declared value coverage for loss or damage during transit, subject to FedEx’s terms and conditions.
If your item arrives damaged:
• Please contact support@yuugen.art within 10 days of delivery
• Include clear photographs of the item and original packaging
• We will review the claim and arrange an appropriate resolution in accordance with our Returns & Exchanges Policy
9. Customs Delays & External Factors
Delivery times may occasionally be affected by:
- Customs inspections
- Seasonal shipping volume
- Weather conditions or carrier disruptions
These factors are beyond our control; however, we will assist in monitoring shipments and communicating with carriers whenever possible.
