A sculptural ceramic figure from Kōbeigama's celebrated Egyptian Gods series, this exceptional parent-and-child composition reimagines Bastet—sky goddess and sacred messenger of the sun—in the form of Japan's beckoning cat, rendered here as mother and kitten in a single harmonious work.

The parent's raised right paw summons wealth, while the kitten's raised left paw invites guests and good company—together embodying prosperity that endures across generations.

Kōbeigama's signature blue glaze is applied in four to five layered coats, fired, then finished with lavish hand-applied gold accents and fired once more—a meticulous, time-honored process carried out entirely by master artisans.
